Summer volunteer activities are booming in local areas.

*On the morning of June 5th, at Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong District Youth UnionThe launching ceremony for the 2018 summer volunteer campaign was held with the theme "Youth of Con Cuong ethnic groups: Creative and Volunteering for Community Life" and in response to World Environment Day on June 5th.

In Con Cuong, the summer youth volunteer campaign, in addition to undertaking a provincial-level youth project: constructing a nearly 3km-long rural road from Moi village to Khe Thin in Luc Da commune, the District Youth Union will focus on carrying out tasks such as: building rural infrastructure and landscapes, renovating irrigation canals, participating in forest fire prevention and control; disaster and disease prevention, waste collection; installing water safety signs and teaching swimming to children in the area, and activities such as supporting students during exams and providing charitable meals.

*Morning of June 5th,In response to World Environment Day, the Youth Union of Long Son Ward, Thai Hoa TownLaunching the "Youth Creativity and Volunteering for the Community Summer 2018" movement.

Early this morning, more than 30 volunteer youth union members from the ward mobilized to clean up waste and beautify the streets of the ward.

As part of the Youth Union's summer plan, there is also a program to support the 2018 exam season at Thai Hoa High School; implementing activities to support and assist candidates and their families, especially those from distant areas or with difficult circumstances.

In addition, four waiting points for parents to pick up candidates were set up, along with five secure parking areas; coordination with functional forces ensured traffic safety at the examination sites; and measures were taken to prevent negative behaviors and social vices that could adversely affect the candidates.

* Supporting students during exam season: From June 3rd to 7th, over 50Youth union members of Tuong Duong districtThe team was divided into 3 groups. Two groups were stationed at the gate of Tuong Duong 1 High School, and the remaining group was stationed at Tuong Duong 2 High School. All three groups provided counseling and support to candidates and their families, offered information and free drinking water; recommended safe and hygienic food establishments; and arranged free or low-cost accommodation…

Thanks to effective mobilization and appeals, the Tuong Duong District Youth Union has received both spiritual and material support from philanthropists, agencies, and businesses in the area. This includes nearly 800 free meals, each worth 30,000 VND, and 60 free or low-cost accommodations for disadvantaged students from remote areas.

*Quy Chau District Youth UnionIn coordination with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the District People's Committee, the launching ceremony of the 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign was organized with the theme "Quy Chau Youth: Creative and Volunteering for Community Life".

Leaders of the Que Phong District People's Committee and leaders of the People's Committees of the communes and towns signed a commitment to implement the Month of Action for Children and a Safe Summer for Children.

On this occasion, the organizing committee presented 10 bicycles to disadvantaged students in Thong Thu and Dong Van communes; awarded 20 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to 20 disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies in Thong Thu commune; and presented 20 life jackets to vehicle owners who have undergone technical safety inspections.

As part of the program, the organizers disseminated information and skills for preventing and responding to drowning incidents among students.

* On the same day,The People's Committee of Anh Son District, in coordination with the District Youth Union.The launching ceremony for the month of action for the environment was held in response to World Environment Day (June 5th) with the theme: "Addressing plastic and plastic bag pollution".

The People's Committee of Anh Son district requests that communes and towns continue to strengthen propaganda and education efforts among officials, Party members, and the people throughout the district to participate in environmental protection through specific and practical actions.

Local authorities launched community awareness campaigns on the theme: "Say no to single-use plastic products"; organized environmental sanitation drives, maintaining a strong Saturday morning environmental sanitation movement; and conducted activities to collect plastic waste and plastic bags in markets and residential areas.

Following the launching ceremony, youth union members and residents of 21 communes and towns in Anh Son district simultaneously mobilized to collect waste in residential areas.
