(Baonghean.vn) - During a meeting with the delegation from the Provincial People's Committee, Bishop Nguyen Thai Hop expressed regret over the incident at Yen Lac parish, Xuan Kieu parish, and pledged to cooperate with authorities at all levels to resolve the matter and stabilize the situation as soon as possible.
As reported by Nghe An newspaper, in recent days, at Yen Lac parish, Xuan Kieu parish (Nghi Kieu, Nghi Loc), hundreds of parishioners have been demolishing fences, cutting down trees, encroaching on land, and illegally building roads within the premises of Cluster 1 - Nghi Kieu Kindergarten.

Following the meeting with Auxiliary Bishop Nguyen Van Vien on the afternoon of October 7th, on the morning of October 10th, the delegation led by Mr. Le Xuan Dai – Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province – held a meeting with Bishop Nguyen Thai Hop of the Vinh Diocese to discuss and agree on a solution.
During the meeting, Mr. Le Xuan Dai requested the Bishopric to instruct the parish priest of Xuan Kieu, the Pastoral Council, and the parishioners of Yen Lac to cease all illegal activities, promptly rectify the consequences, and restore the land of Cluster 1 of Nghi Kieu Commune Kindergarten to its original state as it was before October 5, 2015.
