Son Tung M-TP scores a 'hat-trick' at the 2015 Green Wave Awards.
Besides the male singer, songwriter Tien Tien was also honored in three categories at the annual music awards.
The 2015 Green Wave Awards ceremony took place on the evening of December 18th at the Lan Anh stage in Ho Chi Minh City. This year's awards continued to recognize the contributions of young artists. For the first time, two artists achieved a "hat-trick" of awards: Son Tung M-TP and Tien Tien.

Sơn Tùng M-TP was included in the "Top 10 Most Popular Songwriters" and the "Top 5 Most Popular Singers - Young Artists Category". His single "Âm Thầm Bên Em" (Silently Beside You) was named "Single of the Year". Young songwriter Tiên Tiên also achieved similar success to Sơn Tùng, being honored in the "Top 10 Most Popular Songwriters", "Phenomenal Song" (for the song "Say You Do"), and a special award from the organizers - "Author with the Most Popular Songs".
Both young artists expressed their honor and happiness at being voted for and supported by the audience in their artistic endeavors. "With these awards, I promise to always be creative and innovative to bring wholesome music to the audience," said Son Tung M-TP.
Noo Phuoc Thinh continued his success by winning two awards - "Top 5 Most Loved Singers" and "Music Project of the Year" with "Maldives Love Story".
While the young singers category was vibrant, the "Top 5 Most Popular Singers" (Golden List) saw no significant changes. The five winners this year were the same as last year: Ho Ngoc Ha, Cam Ly, Le Quyen, Tuan Hung, and Dam Vinh Hung. Cam Ly, Le Quyen, and Tuan Hung were absent from the awards ceremony.

The "Promising Face" award, voted on by music journalists, went to Ai Phuong and Hoai Lam. The two embraced in celebration amidst the cheers and applause of the audience. On stage, the female singer broke down in tears as she shared about the difficult times she had gone through. Starting her career as a model, Ai Phuong was always seen as a "model turned singer." Because of this, she had to struggle and at times felt uncertain about the path she had chosen. The songwriter of "Trot Yeu" (Falling in Love) quickly wiped away her tears and thanked her father and her late mother. This award is considered a launching pad that brought Ho Ngoc Ha, Ha Anh Tuan, Ho Quynh Huong, and Duc Tuan closer to the public.
Trong Hieu Idol won the "Breakthrough Artist" award. This award is given to young singers discovered through various singing competitions throughout the year, who may or may not have already appeared on the Green Wave charts, as selected by an art council. Last year, the group O-Plus from the "X Factor 2014" competition received this award.

In the songwriter category, this year Hoang Touliver received the "Favorite Arranger" award for the song "Ngay Mai" (performed by Toc Tien, composed by Luu Thien Huong). The "Top 10 Favorite Songwriters" list includes familiar names like Do Hieu, Nguyen Hong Thuan, Chau Dang Khoa, and Luu Thien Huong, as well as new names such as Khac Hung, Tien Tien, Only C, Mr. Siro, and Nguyen Duy Anh.
Interspersed with the announcements and award presentations were performances by singers Ho Ngoc Ha, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Dong Nhi, Son Tung M-TP, and others.
Unlike previous years, this year the organizers did not invite beauty queens to present awards for each category.Instead, they invited artists from the music industry to honor the winners. The awards ceremony lacked many highlights except for a segment that subtly mocked the recent controversial program "Those Who Talk Too Much," hosted by musician Chau Dang Khoa, singer Thao Nhi, and dancer To Lam.
