Song Lam Nghe An is not qualified to participate in V.League 2020
(Baonghean.vn) - Not only facing difficulties in finding new sponsors, SLNA Club also faces the task of upgrading Vinh Stadium and completing some necessary procedures to be able to participate in V.League 2020.
In October 2019, the VFF Licensing Board reviewed and approved the licensing proposal for 8 clubs to participate in AFC club tournaments in 2020, including: B.Binh Duong, SHB Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon, Viettel, Than Quang Ninh, Quang Nam and HAGL.
The remaining clubs, due to not fully meeting the mandatory criteria under the licensing regulations approved by AFC, are not eligible to be licensed to participate in AFC club level tournaments in 2020. The mandatory criteria to be met under levels A and B include: Sports, Facilities, Administrative Human Resources, Legal and Finance.

Recently, the Organizing Committee of Vietnam's professional tournaments has sent to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation a proposal to grant licenses to clubs that are not qualified to participate in V.League 2020.
Accordingly, SLNA, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa and Hai Phong are the 4 teams on the list of teams applying for this license. These are teams that have not met the requirements of the V.League Organizing Committee in the past year.
In such cases, VFF will establish a council including representatives of the Organizing Committee and clubs in V.League to vote to decide whether the above 4 teams are allowed to participate in the tournament or not.
The contents that SLNA has not met the requirements include:
- The club did not submit documents proving that it had paid its tax debt (the club had committed to do so).
- The club did not submit documents proving its ability to continue operating in the future (the club has committed to announcing the sponsor).
- Vinh Stadium's light only averages 382 lux, not meeting the minimum requirement of 900 lux.
According to the regulations of professional football in Vietnam, each club participating in V.League must have a minimum budget of 35 billion VND to cover activities in a season, or a fiscal year. In the near future, if SLNA finds a new sponsor, the financial problem will be solved.
In addition, the lighting system of Vinh stadium must be upgraded. Currently, SLNA Club has reported to the leaders of Nghe An province and the Provincial People's Committee has sent a document requesting the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province to work with relevant departments and branches to resolve this issue.

Song Lam Nghe An and the decline of subsidized football
(Baonghean.vn) – The development history of SLNA football team has gone through countless ups and downs. With its roots and foundation of talent, the Nghe An football team has always stood firm. However, in the era of “strong because of rice, bold because of money”, a symbol is becoming “dying” in the midst of the times.
