Ssangyong Korando - a one billion VND crossover in Vietnam.

The crossover segment offers more choices with two engine options: petrol and diesel.

Introduced alongside its older siblings Rexton and Korando Turismo at the Ssangyong Thang Long launch event on September 24th, the Korando is a crossover model, competing in the same segment as the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, and Honda CR-V.

The Ssangyong Korando starts at 957 million VND.

The Korando is 4,410 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,710 mm high, including the roof rack. The wheelbase is 2,650 mm, 30 mm longer than the CR-V. Ground clearance is 180 mm.

The Korando boasts a sporty, masculine design, featuring a mesh grille, HID headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, automatic wipers, aggressive air intakes on the front bumper, electrically adjustable mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, teardrop-shaped taillights, and sporty dual exhaust pipes.

Ssangyong equips the Korando with two engine options: a 2-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 149 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 360 Nm in the 2,000-2,500 rpm range.

The 2-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine produces 149 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 197 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Both models use a 6-speed automatic transmission paired with AWD.

Thanks to its three driving modes, the diesel version of the Korando consumes 7.3 liters/100 km in mixed driving conditions, while the petrol version consumes 8.5 liters/100 km in mixed driving conditions, according to the manufacturer.
