On the morning of September 30, in Vinh city, the rain stopped, but the water level of the Lam River downstream continued to rise due to upstream rain and flood discharge from the hydroelectric plant.
What residents of blocks 10, 13, and 15 of Ben Thuy ward are really worried about is the incident of Lam River water overflowing into the reservoir of Cau Tri drainage pumping station in the south of Vinh city.

At the scene this morning, Vinh City authorities dispatched staff to implement remedial measures. However, the work only stopped at stuffing sand into the reservoir's drainage barrier. Currently, Lam River water is still overflowing into the reservoir draining the Cau Tri pumping station in Ben Thuy ward.

Cau Tri Pumping Station is actively on duty, deploying a number of pumps to release water in the reservoir. Residents of blocks 10, 11, 13, 15 of Ben Thuy Ward are really worried about the phenomenon of Lam River water overflowing into the reservoir of Cau Tri Pumping Station.
Many people in the surrounding area, fearing that rising water levels could cause flooding, have proactively moved their belongings higher up. They are also concerned because the Cau Tri reservoir and pumping station, which have just been upgraded, are part of the Vinh City flood control project.
