Husband and wife seriously burned while repairing lawn mower

The incident occurred at 12:00 on August 12, 2016 in Nghia Phuc commune (Tan Ky district). The victims were Mr. Tran Khac Hai (born in 1971) and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (born in 1972).

Mr. Hai was diagnosed with 52% burns.

People living near Mr. Ha's house said that while they were eating, they heard a loud scream coming from Mr. Hai's house. When they ran over, they saw Mr. Hai burning fiercely. Mr. Hai's wife jumped in to save her husband and was also severely burned.

People quickly put out the fire and took the couple to the emergency room and then transferred them to the provincial general hospital. Doctors determined that Mr. Hai suffered severe burns of 52%, while Ms. Ly, who had chronic kidney disease, was in poor health and was transferred directly to the National Burn Institute.

Ms. Ly was transferred directly to the National Institute of Burns for treatment.

The cause of the fire is known to be that Mr. Hai borrowed a lawn mower to clean the garden, while pouring gasoline, accidentally spilled gasoline on the floor. Because there was a wood stove nearby, the fire broke out.

It is known that Mr. Hai's family is the poorest in the village, the children are still young, Ms. Ly is constantly sick, the family is always in dire circumstances.
