Subaru Forester 2016 Welcomes Southeast Asia

On March 21, Subaru's best-selling car model in the US was introduced at the Bangkok exhibition (Thailand), and is expected to launch in Vietnam at the end of April.

First launched in Japan in 1997, the Forester has gone through 5 generations since then. Subaru chose the 37th Bangkok Motor Show (Thailand) to introduce the 2016 Forester, an upgraded version of the 5th generation for the Southeast Asian market.

The new Forester has improved technology to increase performance and a more eye-catching new design. Subaru targets the 2016 Forester at families and those who love to drive.

Compared to the current version, the 2016 Forester has a redesigned grille, taillights and new rims. The interior details are also improved from the clock cluster, LCD multi-information display to the dashboard with a new touch screen. In addition, Subaru uses soundproofing materials and new glass to help reduce noise.

The upgraded SUV applies X-Mode technology, combining the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (S-AWD) system and the CVT transmission, to improve the driving feel. X-Mode technology supports rough roads, downhill and slippery roads, in addition to the 3-mode SI-Drive steering system. The suspension of the 2016 Forester is also improved with stiffer front crossbars, reinforced springs and dampers.

In addition to the above upgrades, Subaru also applies new safety features such as smart headlights that shine according to the steering angle. Pin code recognition locking system. Forester 2016 launched in Southeast Asia with 3 versions of 4-cylinder engines including 2.0i, 2.0iP and 2.0XT. The 2.0i and 2.0iP versions have a capacity of 150 horsepower at 6,200 rpm, fuel consumption of 7.9 liters/100 km. The 2.0XT version with turbocharged engine has a capacity of 241 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, fuel consumption of 8.5 liters/100 km, according to Subaru's test.

It is expected that by the end of April 2016, Forester 2016 imported from Japan will be available in Vietnam with 2 versions 2.0iL and 2.0XT. The selling price will be announced at the time of launch.

Bangkok Motor Show 2016 is an annual automobile and motorcycle exhibition in Thailand, the event takes place from March 22 to April 3. Forester 2016 is sold in Thailand with prices ranging from 40,000 to 65,600 USD.
