While media attention was focused on CES 2017, Subaru decided to unveil the 2018 WRX and WRX STI high-performance models in the US market. These two high-performance vehicles are expected to go on sale in the US this spring. |

In the 2018 version, the Subaru WRX and WRX STI received a new bumper with larger air intakes and a more prominent grille. Both also feature redesigned LED headlights that can illuminate corners. The 2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI also have roof rails for attaching roof racks. |

The 2018 Subaru WRX (red) is equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Boxer engine producing a maximum power of 268 horsepower. The engine is paired with all-wheel drive (AWD) and adaptive torque vectoring. A standard 6-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT are also available. |

Meanwhile, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI comes with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Boxer engine producing a maximum of 305 horsepower. |

However, unlike the regular WRX, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI features Driver-Controlled Center Differential (CFD) all-wheel drive, upgraded brakes, and standard 19-inch wheels. This marks the first time the Subaru WRX STI has been equipped with similar wheels. |

| The 19-inch wheels of the 2018 Subaru WRX STI feature a multi-spoke Y-shaped design and come with 245/35 tires to enhance handling when cornering. Hidden behind these wheels are yellow Brembo brake calipers, a distinctive feature of the 2018 Subaru WRX STI. The monoblock 6-piston calipers at the front and 2-piston calipers at the rear are paired with drilled brake rotors. |

Furthermore, the 2018 Subaru WRX features a new front and rear suspension system that not only increases stability but also improves handling and cornering ability. The power steering system of the 2018 Subaru WRX has also been recalibrated to provide a better feel. |

When purchasing the 2018 Subaru WRX, American customers can opt for the new Performance package. This package includes 8-way power adjustable Recaro seats, red-painted brake calipers, newly designed 18-inch wheels, and upgraded Jurid brake pads. Notably, the Performance package removes the sunroof from the 2018 Subaru WRX to reduce weight. |
