Subaru introduces the 2018 WRX and WRX STI high-performance car pair
The 2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI performance cars have been given a slight design change and additional equipment.

While all the media attention is focused on the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Subaru has decided to introduce its 2018 WRX and WRX STI performance cars in the US market. The performance cars are expected to start being sold in the US market this spring. |

For 2018, the Subaru WRX and WRX STI get new bumpers with larger air intakes and a more prominent grille. Both come with redesigned LED headlights that can light up corners. The roof of the 2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI has hooks for installing cargo racks. |

The 2018 Subaru WRX (red) is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 268 horsepower. The engine is mated to AWD and adaptive torque vectoring. It comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT. |

Meanwhile, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI comes with a 2.5-liter, turbocharged, 4-cylinder Boxer engine with a maximum capacity of 305 horsepower. |

However, unlike the regular WRX, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI has an additional 4-wheel drive system Driver Controlled Center Differential, upgraded brakes and a standard set of 19-inch wheels. This is the first time the Subaru WRX STI is equipped with a similar set of wheels. |

| The 2018 Subaru WRX STI's 19-inch wheels feature a multi-spoke Y-shaped design and come with 245/35 tires for improved cornering handling. Hidden behind these wheels are Brembo yellow brake calipers, a hallmark of the 2018 Subaru WRX STI. The 6-piston monobloc calipers up front and 2-piston calipers at the rear are paired with drilled brake rotors. |

In addition, the Subaru WRX 2018 also has a new front/rear suspension system that not only increases stability but also improves driving feel and cornering ability. The power steering system of the Subaru WRX 2018 is also calibrated to provide a better feel. |

When purchasing the 2018 Subaru WRX, US customers can choose a new Performance package. This package includes 8-way power seats by Recaro, red painted brake calipers, new design 18-inch wheels and upgraded brake pads by Jurid. Notably, the Performance package will remove the sunroof on the 2018 Subaru WRX to reduce weight. |

| Other changes to the 2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI include new interior upholstery, a rear armrest with cup holders, redesigned door handles, and a faster-opening trunk lid. Plus, there's a new, larger 5.9-inch multi-info display. |
