Subaru Viziv-7 - A new SUV to compete with the Ford Explorer.
This large SUV model is a new product that marks the Japanese automaker's return to a segment it left undeveloped a few years ago.
At the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 18-27 in the US), Subaru unveiled a new 7-seater SUV concept called the Viziv-7. Subaru abandoned this segment in 2014 after discontinuing the Tribeca. The new model showcases the brand's future image with its "Vision for Innovation" philosophy.

The Viziv-7's appearance is comparable to a large SUV.The car is 5,199 mm long, 2,029 mm wide, and 1,829 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,990 mm, approximately 380 mm longer than the company's Outback and longer than the Ford Explorer, which has a wheelbase of 2,865 mm.

The design of the new concept model combines a muscular, American look with a modern, futuristic style in the headlights, fog lights, and grille.
According to Caranddriver, when commercially produced, the car may bear the name Ascent, a name the Japanese automaker recently registered in the US. It will appear in early 2018, equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine.

Volkswagen also brought the Atlas to this exhibition earlier, competing in the large SUV segment. The trend of shifting from low ground clearance to high ground clearance is developing across all markets from the US and Europe to Asia, causing manufacturers to focus more resources, while requirements for emissions and fuel consumption are becoming increasingly stringent.
