The Subaru XV is a compact crossover SUV, developed from the platform of the C-segment Impreza hatchback. It is also known as the Crosstrek in the US market.

The 2018 Subaru XV has a similar appearance to the 5th generation Impreza, boasting a ground clearance of up to 220 mm, giving drivers more confidence when climbing curbs or taking shortcuts through forests.

In terms of dimensions, the new generation Subaru XV will still have a length x width x height of 4,520 x 1,920 x 1,570 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is 2,670 mm.

The 2018 Subaru XV adopts the new Dynamic X Solid design language. This design is most evident at the front of the vehicle. In addition, the car incorporates the characteristic C-shaped light pattern at the front and rear. It features a hexagonal grille with a sharp matte black border and new wheel designs. New black details appear on the roof rails, wheel arches, and the entire underbody protection. Furthermore, it boasts modern 18-inch black wheels in a two-tone silver and black design.

Inside, the car features an 8-inch touchscreen central display, complete with infotainment functions and Apple CarPlay connectivity. For the 2018 version, the interior has been refined to feel more spacious, and the trunk is also larger. Orange stitching is featured on details of the dashboard and seats.

The new Subaru XV comes in two engine variants: XV2.0i and 2.0iS. ​​The two versions differ primarily in their amenities. Both share an interior that is almost identical to the 5th-generation Impreza, evident in the steering wheel, air vents, instrument cluster display, infotainment system touchscreen, climate control buttons, and gear shifter.

The 2018 XV 2.0i version features halogen headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, 225/60 tires, a sound system with a 6.5-inch screen, manually adjustable front seats, and a rearview camera. Meanwhile, the 2.0iS version adds LED cornering headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 225/55 tires, an 8-inch sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a multi-information display, cruise control, power-adjustable driver's seat, leather-wrapped dashboard, and a sunroof.

Powering the 2018 Subaru XV is a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated, direct-injection, four-cylinder boxer gasoline engine producing a maximum power of 154 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 196 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It's paired with a Lineartronic CVT transmission and the familiar S-AWD all-wheel drive system.

The 2018 Subaru XV still comes equipped with several safety technologies such as the Subaru EyeSight pre-collision control system, adaptive cruise control, and adjustable headlights.

The first-generation Subaru XV is currently being officially distributed in Vietnam at a price of 1.368 billion VND.

This model is considered to be in the same segment as the Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3, but its price will be equivalent to or higher than the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, or Nissan X-Trail.
