Subaru XV 2018: Super superior technology

The Subaru XV is a compact crossover SUV, developed from the chassis platform of the C-class Impreza hatchback. The car is also known as the Crosstrek in the US market.

The 2018 Subaru XV version has an appearance quite similar to the 5th generation Impreza, with a ground clearance of up to 220 mm, helping the driver feel more confident when climbing sidewalks or taking shortcuts through the forest.

Subaru XV 2018 applies the new Dynamic X Solid design language. This design is most clearly shown on the front of the car. In terms of interior, the car has an 8-inch central touch screen, accompanied by infotainment functions and Apple CarPlay phone connectivity. In the 2018 version, the company has refined the inside of the cockpit to make the car look more spacious and the luggage compartment is also larger. Orange stitching appears on the details on the dashboard and seats.

The new Subaru XV comes in two engine versions, the XV2.0i and 2.0iS. ​​The two versions differ mainly in terms of amenities. Both have an interior that is almost identical to the 5th generation Impreza, as shown by the steering wheel, air-conditioning vents, display in the instrument cluster, touchscreen of the infotainment system, air-conditioning control buttons and gear lever.

The 2018 XV 2.0i version has Halogen headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, 225/60 tires, a sound system with a 6.5-inch screen, manually adjustable front seats and a rearview camera. Meanwhile, the 2.0iS version has additional LED headlights with cornering lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 225/55 tires, a sound system with an 8-inch screen, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, multi-information display, cruise control, electric driver's seat, leather-wrapped dashboard, sunroof...

Powering the 2018 Subaru XV is a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated, direct-injected, 4-cylinder boxer gasoline engine that produces a maximum power of 154 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 196 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It comes with a Lineartronic CVT transmission and the familiar S-AWD all-wheel drive system.

Subaru XV 2018 is still equipped with a number of safety technologies such as front collision control system (Subaru EyeSight), cruise control (Adaptive Cruise Control) and adjustable headlight system.

Currently, the first generation Subaru XV is being officially distributed in Vietnam with a price of 1.368 billion VND.

This model is considered to be in the same segment as Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, but the selling price will be equivalent or higher than Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 or Nissan X-Trail.
