The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport has been revealed.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport is expected to officially debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year.
The new generation Suzuki Swift, a cute little hatchback, first debuted in Japan last December. Now, Suzuki has released a sportier version of the 2017 Swift, simply called the Sport.
The only images released by Suzuki show that the 2017 Swift Sport has some differences compared to the regular version. This is evident in the new front bumper with fog light housings that are no longer connected.

The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport also features new air intakes and a wider grille. The grille, however, has a wave-like mesh pattern instead of a honeycomb design.
For now, Suzuki hasn't released much information regarding the higher-performance version of the new generation Swift. According to previous rumors, the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will weigh only 870 kg, 200 kg lighter than the previous version.
It is currently unclear which engine the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will use. Meanwhile, the 2017 Suzuki Swift in the Japanese market offers three different powertrain options. The first is a 1.0-liter, turbocharged, three-cylinder Boosterjet gasoline engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 102 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 150 Nm in the 1,700-4,500 rpm range.
Secondly, there's a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder Dualjet gasoline engine producing a maximum power of 91 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 118 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Finally, the hybrid powertrain includes the same Dualjet gasoline engine and an electric motor generating a maximum power of 3.1 horsepower and a maximum torque of 50 Nm.

The vehicle's engine options come with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, or CVT transmission. Additionally, there's an optional 1-wheel or 2-wheel drive system.
It is highly likely that the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will share the same 1.4-liter, turbocharged, direct-injection, four-cylinder BoosterJet engine from the Vitara S. This engine produces a maximum power of 140 horsepower and a maximum torque of 220 Nm.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport is expected to officially debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year.
