Download photos of used cars to scam people into buying them at cheap prices, collect deposits, and then... run away!
On October 31st, the police of Dak R'lap district (Dak Nong province) temporarily detained Tran Van Loc (born in 2003), residing in Krong Bong district, Dak Lak province, for investigation into the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to the initial investigation, Tran Van Loc used his Facebook account to join groups and forums with the aim of obtaining information and images of people who wanted to sell used cars and excavators.
Information, images, and objects were obtained and downloaded, then posted on a personal page named "Nguyen Huu Luu," and offered for sale at very low prices.

When the customer agreed to buy, the suspect requested a deposit via bank transfer. After receiving the deposit, Tran Van Loc continued to give various reasons to build trust, prompting the customer to send more money as a deposit, then blocked all communication.
From January 2024 until his arrest, this individual defrauded hundreds of people of approximately 500 million VND, with amounts ranging from 1 to 50 million VND.
