When ordered to stop for inspection by traffic police, the driver of a 12-seater vehicle fled and crashed into a barrier blocking the road, seriously injuring a captain.

The driver rammed his car into police officers who were attempting to arrest him.

On the afternoon of July 27th, a traffic police team on duty in Kong Chro town (Gia Lai province) spotted a 12-seater vehicle speeding and signaled it to stop for inspection, but the driver refused to comply.

The police notified another task force on duty on Provincial Road 667, about 6 km away, to use a specialized vehicle and two small trucks to form a roadblock across the road to intercept the suspects.

As the car approached the barrier, three traffic police officers signaled it to stop, but the driver, Nguyen Thanh Hung (33 years old, from Gia Lai), still drove straight into it. Captain Nguyen Hoang Nha was thrown to the other side of the road and suffered serious injuries.

A 12-seater vehicle was found overturned on the side of the road, with several logs inside. Besides the driver, the vehicle also contained Pham Minh Sang (27 years old) and a 15-year-old boy. Upon examination, Sang tested positive for drugs.

Hung is currently being held by the Kong Chro Police for investigation.
