Temporary closure of secondary border crossings in Nghe An to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the authorities in the Lao-Vietnamese border area, opposite the Thong Thu Border Guard Post, have temporarily closed the secondary border gate to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
According to the plan, from February 15th to February 20th, the Lao authorities in Sam To district, Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, implemented a decision to temporarily close the Thong Thu border gate to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Those from Vietnam who had already crossed into Laos before this period were still allowed to return to Vietnam as per regulations.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Huy, Political Officer of Thong Thu Border Guard Station, said: "Along with implementing the notification from the Lao side regarding the temporary closure of the secondary border gate, the unit has strengthened its forces and resources to maintain a presence in the area, and intensified propaganda efforts to raise awareness among officers, soldiers, and people in the border region about the dangers and methods of preventing the disease."
At the same time, strengthen inspection and control of trails, and organize the prevention of illegal border crossings and entry to combat Covid-19 in the area.
