Detained subjects who 'fabricated' beautiful academic records to send students to study abroad

Ho Thi Quynh Lien, an employee of a study abroad consulting company, colluded with Le Thi Hang Nga to edit academic records so that students who did not have enough points could still study abroad.

On July 18, the Bac Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi) initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and issued a detention order against Pham Viet Luong (born in 1988, in Tan Ky district, Nghe An province), Le Thi Hang Nga (born in 1990, in Me Linh district, Hanoi), Ha The Duy (born in 1986, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province), Ho Thi Quynh Lien (born in 1991, Vinh city, Nghe An) to investigate the crime of Forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations.

Previously, on July 1, while patrolling Phuc Dien ward, Bac Tu Liem district, the police discovered a young man holding two suspicious documents at the entrance of lane 177 Cau Dien street.

When the police conducted an administrative check, the young man confessed that he was delivering fake documents to customers. The police made a record and took the man to the headquarters for clarification.

At the police station, the young man was identified as Ha The Duy, a motorbike taxi driver. Duy and a woman regularly went to collect fake documents and deliver them to customers.

From Duy's testimony, a fake document production and trading network was revealed. Luong was the one who directly produced the fake documents, Nga was the one who posted the advertisement, and Lien was the customer who ordered the documents.

Conducting an emergency search of Luong's residence in Me Linh district, the police seized a blue-and-white laser engraving machine, a laptop, a color printer, 100 file covers, and 126 unused report cards of various types.

In addition, the police also seized 14,568 seven-color stamps, 596 seals, 7 boxes of various stamps, 38 unused high school diploma blanks, a plastic laminating machine and many other related exhibits.

During the investigation, the police determined that Lien was an employee at a study abroad consulting company located in Vinh City, Nghe An Province. This subject went to Nga to falsify academic records when encountering cases of students with low scores who were not qualified to study abroad.

The case is under investigation.
