Four suspects detained in the attack on a riot police officer.
Four suspects involved in disturbing public order at a drug rehabilitation center and attacking a riot police officer have been taken into custody for criminal investigation and prosecution.
On August 18th, the Hai Phong City Police announced that the City Police Investigation Agency had issued a decision to temporarily detain four suspects in connection with the case.disturbing public orderThe stabbing of a riot police officer occurred near the gate of Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1, Bach Dang Ward (Hai Phong).

Initial investigations revealed that at approximately 8:57 AM on August 17th, a group of young men appeared at the gate of Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1 in Bach Dang Ward (Hai Phong). Among them was Pham Van Truong (born in 1993, residing in Phu Luu 2 Hamlet, Viet Khe Commune, Hai Phong City), who gathered with banners and live-streamed on social media, causing a disruption of public order and security.
While on duty providing information and guidance at the gate of Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1, an officer from the Target Protection Police Team - Mobile Police Department of the City Police was attacked and injured in the hand by Pham Van Truong with a knife.
Upon receiving the report, Colonel Bui Trung Thanh - Deputy Director and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the City Police - directed the Criminal Police Department to concentrate its forces and coordinate with the Drug Crime Investigation Department, Bach Dang Ward Police, and Viet Khe Commune Police to immediately arrest Pham Van Truong, while simultaneously pursuing the remaining suspects.
During the investigation and verification process, the authorities deployed a comprehensive range of operational measures. After more than 3 hours, the city police forces arrested the remaining 3 suspects: Vu Huu Cuong (born in 1995, residing in Viet Khe commune, Hai Phong city); Do Thanh Dat (born in 2004, residing in Viet Khe commune, Hai Phong city); and Tran Ngoc Tan (born in 2004, residing in Luu Kiem ward, Hai Phong city).
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Hai Phong City Police has issued a decision to temporarily detain the four suspects mentioned above for further investigation and processing.
