On the evening of October 9th, several social media platforms circulated a video showing a group of teenagers riding motorbikes, shouting, swerving, and carrying weapons, causing disturbances on several roads in the Yen Phong Industrial Zone, injuring a passerby.

In the video, a group of young men armed with sharp knives attached to metal pipes stormed an ice cream shop in Ấp Đồn village, Yên Trung commune, at around 9 PM on October 5th, looking for a group of young men from Chờ town to settle a dispute. The shop was crowded with people at the time.

Upon receiving the information, the Yen Phong District Police (Bac Ninh) directed the Criminal Police team to coordinate with the Yen Phong I Industrial Zone Police Station to reinforce forces and promptly verify the incident for handling.

On October 10th, authorities summoned 20 people for questioning. Simultaneously, two motorcycles and all the weapons were seized.

At the police station, the two groups of young men confessed that their conflict stemmed from social media, leading to them arranging a meeting to settle the dispute. The group from Yen Trung commune pooled money to buy iron pipes and sharp knives, and welded them together to create four pig-slaughtering knives attached to long iron pipes to attack the group from Cho town.

While the group of young men from Chờ town were sitting at an ice cream shop, they saw the Yên Trung group passing by and threw bricks at them. The Yên Trung group immediately turned around, grabbed iron pipes welded with pig-slaughtering knives, and chased after them in retaliation.

The group of young people were mostly born between 2008 and 2010 and live in Yen Phong district. Many of them are still students. Notably, two of them were recently sentenced by the Yen Phong District People's Court on August 28th to 16 and 18 months of suspended sentences for "Disrupting public order"; two others were recently fined for disrupting public order and intentionally causing injury.
