Man detained for suddenly stabbing three young neighbors with a knife.
On July 6th, the Dan Phuong District Police (Hanoi) announced that they are holding Dao Xuan Lam in custody for investigation into the crime of "murder".

According to initial information, at approximately 6:30 PM on June 29th, Dao Xuan Lam (born in 1992), residing in Ha Mo commune, Dan Phuong district, was at home when Uong Van D., Nguyen Tien N., and Dao Tuan A. (aged 10 to 12), all neighbors, came and sat in Lam's yard playing games on his mobile phone.
While the children were playing video games, Lam went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife about 20 cm long, and suddenly stabbed all three children. Seeing this, children D. and Tuan A. managed to run out to the gate, but Lam held onto child N. and stabbed him again in the right side of the neck.
Then, N. also struggled free from Lam's grip and ran to the gate before collapsing. After committing the violent act, the blade of the knife fell off, so Lam took the handle and hid it inside the house.
The three children were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Currently, D. and Tuan A. are in stable condition and have been discharged, while N. is still receiving treatment at the hospital. Dao Xuan Lam was arrested by the police shortly afterward.
The investigation determined that Dao Xuan Lam had no prior criminal record and did not use alcohol or drugs. The suspect also admitted that he had no conflict with the three children before the incident.
