Group of 'ladies' detained for gambling over 1 billion VND

On the afternoon of July 26, the Investigation Police Agency of Bu Gia Map District (Binh Phuoc) announced that Nguyen Thi Thuy (59 years old, residing in Phuoc An village, Binh Tan commune, Phu Rieng district) had come to the police station to surrender for gambling.

At the police station, Thuy initially confessed that she had recorded winning and losing bets with Le Thi Thanh (51 years old), Vo Thi Tam (43 years old), Dinh Thi Tien (47 years old), Bui Thi Ket (63 years old), Bui Thi Lan (30 years old, all residing in Binh Tan commune, Phu Rieng district) and some other subjects named Sen, Lan (unknown relatives and background) for a total amount of more than one billion VND.

Phu Rieng District Police have seized the evidence and issued a decision to temporarily detain Tam and Thuy to verify, investigate and clarify the above behavior. The other subjects have been released on bail by their families to continue handling according to regulations./.
