Facing the risk of elimination at Performance 3, producer SOOBIN used a 'Safety Boost Card' to ease the pressure on the rookies in their mission to rescue the three frozen members.

In episode 6 of the Rookie of the Year program, producer SOOBIN decided to use his unique privilege to support the contestants. Specifically, he used the "Safety Boost Card" to reduce the challenge level, increasing the chances for the Rookie team to advance and rescue their three teammates who were "frozen" during Performance 3.

Pressure ahead of Performance 3

Following their failure in Performance 2, three members, Thai Le Minh Hieu, Wonbi, and minhtin, were "frozen out" and not allowed to participate in the competition. This created a heavy atmosphere and immense pressure for the remaining members, as they faced the task of rescuing their teammates in the upcoming round.

In this context, the captaincy became extremely important. Despite being trusted by the entire team, Ho Dong Quan and Cuong Bach both had reservations before deciding to run for the position. Through discussions with producer SOOBIN, the differences in the leadership styles of the two candidates were clearly revealed.

Cuong Bach was chosen as the team captain.

According to SOOBIN, the captain's position at this stage requires someone decisive, capable of correcting and getting things back on track. After careful consideration, he chose Cuong Bach to lead the entire team in Performance 3, prioritizing a strong and determined spirit.

SOOBIN's key decision

To rescue all three teammates, the rookies accepted a record-breaking challenge of 115%, a decision that member Duy Lân described as "very difficult". Faced with this "life or death" situation, producer SOOBIN decided to use the "Safety Boost Card," a privilege that can only be used once throughout the program.

"I don't want anyone to have to stop here," the singer explained. This decision reduced the challenge by 11%, bringing the final number down to 104%.

Challenges from international competitors

Despite the reduced pressure, the rookies still had to compete against two international professional groups: ARrC from South Korea and FEniX. ARrC delivered a youthful performance of "Vitamin I," while FEniX performed "Back to the Time" with full energy. The average score for both groups was 627 points, equivalent to 100% of the point threshold that the rookie group needed to surpass to advance.

For their part, the eight safe members faced many difficulties practicing the song "Real Talk" due to its high technical requirements and short preparation time. Despite their best efforts and close support from SOOBIN, some members still felt their performance was flawed, leading to anxiety about the results.

The Real Talk performance wasn't as perfect as the rookies had hoped.

Episode 6 ended without announcing the results of Round 1 of Performance 3, leaving questions about the fate of Wonbi, Minhtin, and Thai Le Minh Hieu. Viewers will have to wait for the next episode to find out whether the rookie team will be able to maintain its full roster.
