Swedish school attack: Second suspect arrested.
Swedish police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a sword attack at a high school that left one female student dead and three male students injured. Authorities are investigating the motive for the attack.
A new line of investigation has emerged.
Swedish prosecutors announced on August 26th the arrest of another person in connection with the attack at Brinell School in Fagersta, central Sweden.
This person is suspected of being an accomplice in the murder and attempted murder that occurred on August 21st. Authorities have not released any further information about the second suspect.
Previously, an 18-year-old student from the school had been arrested. Court documents identified the suspect as Liam Nebel.
Nebel is currently being held in custody on charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.
One female student died, three male students were injured.
The attack resulted in the death of a 17-year-old female student and injuries to three other male students.
Among those injured, two victims aged 12-17 remain in serious condition at the hospital.
Police initially stated that there was no reason to believe there were multiple perpetrators. The arrest of a second suspect opens up a new line of investigation into the possibility of accomplices.

According to local media, police also investigated a TikTok account believed to belong to the suspect. The account has since been removed.
AFP reported that it had viewed the account before it was deleted. It contained several videos glorifying attacks on schools.
The final post included an image of a sword lying on the floor. The Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter suggested that the location in the photo was the restroom at Brinell School.
Witnesses recount the events that transpired.
Students who witnessed the attack said the perpetrator was wearing dark clothing and a helmet. He was carrying a sword.
That image is reminiscent of the school attack in Trollhattan, western Sweden, in October 2015.
In a 2015 incident, a 21-year-old man used a sword to kill three people. Authorities determined that the attack was racially motivated.
The perpetrator was dressed in black and wore a mask resembling the character Darth Vader. He also wore a German military helmet from World War II.
