The youngest new professor at Vinh University.

The Chairman of the State Council for Professor Titles, Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, has just signed a decision recognizing the attainment of professor and associate professor titles in 2016.

This decision recognizes 65 educators as meeting the standards for the title of professor and 638 educators as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor.

Among the 65 educators recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor this year, the oldest is Ms. Le Thi Chieu, born in 1947, whose specialty is Metallurgy.

The youngest person to be recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor is Professor Tran Dinh Thang, born in 1975, majoring in Chemistry, currently working at Vinh University.

This list also includes educators from the 1970s generation who have been recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor: Vu Thi Thu Ha, born in 1970, in Chemistry, currently working at the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry; Pham Van Dien, born in 1970, in Forestry, University of Forestry; and Thieu Quang Tuan, born in 1973, in Irrigation, University of Water Resources.

Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training, was recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor in this round.

In two applications for special consideration, Professor Dao Van Lap, in the field of Physics, teaching at the Centre for Optical and Quantum Sciences, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, was recognized as meeting the standards for the professorship title.

Among the 638 educators recognized as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor, the youngest is Professor Tran Xuan Bach, born on October 5, 1984, in the field of Medicine, Hanoi Medical University.

In addition, 46 other educators from the 80s generation were recognized as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor this year.

The oldest person recognized as meeting the standards for the title of associate professor is Professor Bui Manh Hung, born in 1950, from the construction field, who has retired.
