Tan Ky: 9,558 people received rice to relieve hunger

(Baonghean.vn) - Tan Ky district has just received 143 tons of rice to help those in need, according to Decision No. 177, dated January 13, 2016 of the Provincial People's Committee.

The convoy of trucks carrying relief rice arrived at Tan Ky district center on the afternoon of January 15.

According to the report of the district's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Tan Ky has 3,188 households with 9,558 people who are hungry and need rice subsidies during the 2016 Lunar New Year. Accordingly, Tan Ky district was allocated more than 143 tons of rice by the province to the beneficiaries during this occasion, each person who is hungry will be given 15 kg of rice.

Rice is distributed to each commune, then beneficiaries come to the commune People's Committee to receive rice.

By January 15, Tan Ky district had received 143 tons of rice and handed it over to the localities. According to the direction of the district People's Committee, after the district received the rice, the localities received the rice at the district, and people came to receive the rice directly at the commune. By the end of January 18, all the state-supported rice on this occasion was delivered to the beneficiaries.

Previously, on January 14, Tan Ky district also distributed Tet gifts from the President, the province and the district to 5,935 meritorious people in the area, with an amount of more than 1.1 billion VND, of which the district's gifts were 265 million VND.
