Tan Ky has merged, reducing 93 villages and hamlets, and will merge 8 communes.

Phase 1 will merge 8 communes, including: Nghia Dong and Nghia Thai, Nghia Hop and Nghia Binh, Tan Xuan and Tan Phu, Nghia Hoan and Tan Long.

Currently, communes and towns in the area are developing merger plans for staff arrangement as well as effective exploitation and use of facilities.

Mr. Doan Tu Nghia - Head of the Internal Affairs Department of Tan Ky district said: The merger of communes and towns is a major policy, Tan Ky district as well as other localities are proceeding cautiously from villages, hamlets to communes.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee said: In the immediate future, the district will focus on merging including personnel, payroll, to villages, hamlets, and communes, then merging communes. In 2018, the district directed communes to merge, reducing 93 villages, hamlets, and communes. In 2019, it will continue to direct the remaining 5 communes and towns to merge villages, hamlets, and communes.

After completing the hamlet merger, the district will coordinate with relevant agencies to carry out steps to merge communes as planned.

To avoid wasting headquarters buildings after the merger, the district will have solutions to use them in the most optimal and reasonable way, which can be used as schools, medical stations... or auxiliary administrative areas.

The district is directing localities preparing to build new headquarters to temporarily stop construction to wait for the merger roadmap./.
