The rice varieties prioritized include Thai Xuyen 111, Thien Uu 8, SL9, Huong Thom 1, Bac Thom 9..., and new sugarcane varieties resistant to sugarcane grassy shoot disease and with high sugar content, aiming for an average yield of 80 tons per hectare per year.

Along with introducing new high-yield varieties, the Tan Ky District People's Committee encourages farmers to promote mechanization in production from land preparation to harvesting; installing drip irrigation systems for crops, especially on over 100 hectares of orange trees. They also encourage the development of cattle herds towards crossbreeding with the goal of reaching 80% of the total cattle herd being crossbred by 2020. The aim is to increase the number and scale of households and dairy farms to a total of 2,000 head by 2020. Furthermore, they encourage households to develop livestock farming in the form of farms and family farms to create a source of marketable food, improving efficiency and economic value.

Currently, Tan Ky district has 77 farms and 471 family-run livestock breeding facilities.
