Tan Ky focuses on supporting people in flooded areas

(Baonghean.vn) - Heavy rains in recent days have caused the water level of the Con River to rise, flooding many areas in Tan Ky district. In particular, some communes have been isolated.

As of the end of October 12, 320 flooded houses in the communes of Ky Tan, Nghia Dung, Tan An, Huong Son, Nghia Hanh, Nghia Thai, and Tan Huong had been evacuated to safety by local authorities.

Prolonged rain also flooded 700 hectares of sugarcane and corn in the riverside areas; many aquaculture ponds were frozen and 103 dams were full of water.

Faced with the above situation, Tan Ky district leaders and functional agencies have closely followed the grassroots, directed localities to effectively implement flood prevention plans, especially paying attention to people in flooded areas to ensure human safety and minimize damage.
