Tan Ky district is treating over 3000 contaminated wells after the floods.
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, Tan Ky district is actively directing relevant agencies to urgently treat contaminated well water sources after the floods, so that people have access to clean water and can quickly stabilize their lives.

According to residents of Ky Tan commune, districtTan KyMost of the flooded wells are contaminated after the water recedes; many wells have a cloudy yellow color, accompanied by fine mud… Therefore, treating well water for the people is very necessary.
Mr. Trinh Huy Toan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Tan commune (Tan Ky district), said: "In Ky Tan commune, most of the wells were flooded. When the floodwaters rose, the current swept everything into the wells, causing water pollution. Immediately after the water receded, starting from October 3rd, the commune coordinated with specialized agencies to guide people on how to use chemicals to treat well water contaminated after the flood."

According to a report from the Tan Ky District People's Committee, 3,285 wells in the district have been flooded.pollutedFollowing the floods, starting on October 3rd, the district directed specialized agencies to coordinate with the People's Committees of the communes to bring chemicals to treat water wells. To date, the entire district has treated 2,000 out of 3,285 wells, and it is expected that all wells will be treated by the end of October 7th.

According to the specialized agency of Tan Ky district, the process of treating well water is carried out in the following steps: Pump out and clear the floodwater around the well, then disinfect the well with alum and Chloramine B chemicals. After disinfection, the well water is ready for use.
Currently, the district and benefactors are continuing to support the people in the flooded areas with essential supplies, with a priority given to providing filtered water for people to use.
