The new Deputy Minister of the Interior is from Nghe An province.
The Prime Minister has just appointed Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Head of the Government's Religious Affairs Committee, to the position of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr. Vu Chien Thang, born in 1967, is from Cua Lo town, Nghe An province. He graduated from the Public Security University, holds a doctorate in law, and a bachelor's degree in French.
Mr. Thang previously served as Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Police and Deputy Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police. In September 2017, while serving as Director of the Northwest Security Department (General Department of Security, Ministry of Public Security), Mr. Thang was appointed Head of the Government's Religious Affairs Committee.
