(Baonghean.vn) - On December 18, 2016, at Cua Lo Port, the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Youth Union of the Viettel Branch of Nghe An Province to organize the program "I love my Fatherland" to present the National Flag to fishermen in Cua Lo town. Attending the ceremony were Colonel Tran Nguyen Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, representatives of the town's Party Committee and government, a large number of officers, soldiers and fishermen in the area.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2016) and the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2016), the 27th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2016); the Party Committee - Provincial Military Command directed and led the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command to develop the idea of ​​implementing a youth movement called "I love my Fatherland".

The main content of the movement is to organize contributions and mobilize the establishment of a Capital Fund to serve as a financial source to buy new national flags to give to fishermen to hang on their ships and boats during their offshore trips.

The activity of presenting the National Flag to fishermen is closely associated with propaganda activities on the task of protecting sea and island sovereignty; cultural and sports exchange activities.

At the ceremony, the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command presented 10 gifts to 10 fishing households in difficult circumstances and policy families; and presented new national flags to 10 fishermen representing owners of boats and ships in the town.

At the ceremony this morning, the unit presented 600 new national flags to fishermen in the town.

This is an activity to propagate and strengthen the love for the homeland, contributing to material and spiritual encouragement for the town's fishermen to confidently go out to sea; promoting the spirit of patriotism, creativity, and youthful responsibility of cadres and youth union members in the provincial armed forces towards the Fatherland in general and the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands in Nghe An in particular.

In the coming time, the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command will continue to deploy the movement and present the National Flag to fishermen in coastal districts and towns (Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai) in Nghe An province.
