Presenting the national flag to fishermen who stay at sea.

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 18, 2016, at Cua Lo Port, the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Vietel branch in Nghe An province, organized the "I Love My Homeland" program, presenting the national flag to fishermen in Cua Lo town. Attending the ceremony were Colonel Tran Nguyen Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, representatives of the town's Party Committee and government, and a large number of officers, soldiers, and local fishermen.

In anticipation of the 70th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 – December 19, 2016), the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2016), and the 27th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2016), the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command directed and led the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command to develop a youth movement called "I Love My Homeland".

Officers from the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command presented the national flag to the boat owners.

The main objective of the movement was to organize fundraising and establish a capital fund to purchase new national flags to give to fishermen to display on their boats during their voyages at sea.

The activity of presenting the national flag to fishermen is linked to the dissemination of information on the task of protecting maritime sovereignty and islands, as well as cultural and sports exchange activities.

At the ceremony, the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command presented 10 gifts to 10 disadvantaged fishing households and families of policy beneficiaries; and presented new national flags to 10 fishermen representing boat owners in the town.

During this morning's ceremony, the unit presented 600 new national flags to fishermen in the town.

This activity aims to promote and strengthen love for the homeland, contributing to providing material and spiritual encouragement for fishermen in the town to confidently venture out to sea; fostering patriotism, creativity, and responsibility among young cadres and youth union members in the provincial armed forces towards the Fatherland in general and the task of protecting maritime sovereignty in Nghe An province in particular.

In the coming period, the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command will continue to implement the movement and present the National Flag to fishermen in coastal districts and towns (Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai) in Nghe An province.
