Strengthening consumer rights protection
Implementing Directive No. 30-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening leadership in consumer rights protection, the Nghe An Consumer Rights Protection Association has continuously consolidated its organization, innovated its content and methods of operation, and played a core role in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of consumers in the province.
Strengthening the organization and expanding the operational network.
The Nghe An Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association was established according to Decision No. 2347/QD-UBND dated July 6, 2007, of the Provincial People's Committee. As of November 2025, the Association had 7,652 members, operating in 15 collective branches with 983 members, 17 affiliated branches with 6,385 members, and 120 official individual members.

The Executive Committee of the Association is regularly restructured, with specific tasks assigned to ensure focused and targeted activities. Membership development and expansion of the network of collaborators are prioritized, including many professionals, lawyers, journalists, market management officials, etc., contributing to improving the quality of advice and protecting consumer rights.
Along with organizational restructuring, the Association has focused on promoting the dissemination of laws on consumer rights protection through various forms such as conferences, training courses, seminars, direct consultations, and through mass media. The Association collaborates with departments, localities, and media agencies, including Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, to organize numerous training courses on the Law on Consumer Rights Protection and related legal regulations.
The campaign focuses on consumer rights and responsibilities; safe and smart consumption skills; and identifying counterfeit and substandard goods, thereby raising community awareness and building a culture of responsible consumption.

Through its website, social media, and publications, the Association has actively contributed to protecting consumer rights while supporting and safeguarding the reputation of legitimate businesses.
In 2025, the Association will participate in training courses on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in business management and disseminate information on the new provisions of the 2023 Law on Consumer Rights Protection organized by the Department of Industry and Trade. The Association will also coordinate with the National Competition Commission and the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghe An province to address the concerns raised by the Nghe An Gas Association regarding the business activities of liquefied petroleum gas.

Promoting its role in social consultation and critique, the Association effectively performs its functions of social consultation, critique, and assessment; participating in providing feedback on the plan to organize activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2025 as directed by the Department of Industry and Trade. The work of receiving, advising on, and resolving consumer requests and complaints has been implemented seriously, contributing to limiting disputes and protecting the legitimate rights of the people.
Effectively protecting consumer rights.
In 2025, the Association received and processed 17 letters, complaints, and grievances from consumers in the following areas: consumer goods, telecommunications, electricity, water, education, and healthcare. The success rate of consultation and mediation reached 100%, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights of consumers and maintaining social stability.

The association has also proactively coordinated with relevant authorities to inspect and monitor the market; participated in inspecting food businesses in Vinh City; and collaborated in the inspection of fuel pumps at several enterprises.
Simultaneously, coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to disseminate and implement the Law on Consumer Rights Protection 2025 at the grassroots level; carry out thematic propaganda on press agencies, and work with the Go! Supermarket management board on ensuring the supply of goods and stabilizing prices during Tet.

With the achievements made, the Nghe An Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association was awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Consumer Protection Association for 2 collectives and 6 individuals; and Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations for 1 collective and 1 individual.
