Strengthening information management on the internet

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An voters: Request the Ministry of Information and Communications to further strengthen the management of information networks, because currently there is too much inaccurate and false information and images causing confusion among the people and damage to producers, affecting product consumption activities in particular and the Vietnamese economy in general.

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Information and Communications responded as follows:

Currently, regulations and sanctions for handling illegal information on the Internet have been issued quite fully, however, due to the open nature of information on the Internet and the rapid development of science and technology, management is facing many difficulties. Regarding information on electronic newspapers, in addition to strict management solutions, the Ministry of Information and Communications has strengthened inspection, examination and strict handling of violating press agencies, specifically as follows:

In the past 5 years, the Ministry has handled 242 violations by press agencies, including warnings for 11 press agencies, fines for 231 press agencies with a total amount of 4,607,700,000 VND; revoked the right to use for 1 month and revoked 2 licenses to set up electronic information pages on the Internet for 2 press agencies, and confiscated 1 domain name ".vn".

Suspend and revoke press operation licenses for 14 cases, of which 8 cases were temporarily suspended and 4 cases were revoked; 2 licenses for establishing general electronic information websites on the Internet were revoked; 121 Press cards were revoked, of which 95 cases were revoked because the press agency stopped operating or because the journalist changed jobs; 26 cases were revoked due to violations.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to strengthen inspection, examination and strict handling of violations, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the people, meeting the requirements of society.
