Boosting Youth Union activities through digital transformation efforts.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the first six months of the year, the Youth Union's work and the youth and children's movement throughout the province have achieved many important results in all fields. In particular, the digital transformation of the Youth Union's activities has been widely and effectively implemented.
Many significant advancements have been made.
This is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Youth Union Congress at all levels, along with carrying out the theme of"The Year of Digital Transformation in Youth Union Activities",In the first six months of the year, the Youth Union's work and the youth and children's movement throughout the province have seen many positive changes, achieving important results in all areas. 12 out of 14 annual work targets have been met or exceeded by over 50%. Many aspects of the Youth Union's work and the youth and children's movement have shown outstanding results compared to the first six months of 2022.
The three major revolutionary action movements of the Youth Union and the three accompanying programs have been implemented with many innovations and creative approaches, closely following the practical situation in the localities. Young people throughout the province have actively participated in activities contributing to socio-economic development in the new context; participating in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; digital transformation, etc.
These activities have attracted a large number of youth union members and mobilized significant resources from society. Through this movement, the role, responsibility, pioneering spirit, initiative, creativity, and effectiveness of the Youth Union's activities have been more clearly demonstrated.
Achieve the annual work targets:
1.100% of Youth Union officials and members, and 80% of young people have received training, been thoroughly briefed on, and been informed about the resolutions and policies of the Party, the laws and regulations of the State, and the resolutions, conclusions, and policies of the Youth Union.
2. Provided 7.2 billion VND in support for young people starting businesses and developing the economy through entrusted loan sources via the Bank for Social Policies, job creation loans through the Central Youth Union channel, and provincial-level Youth and Young Entrepreneurs Funds. Supported 7 innovative startup projects for young people.
3.Career counseling for500,000 visits; job referrals for 4,200Youth union members.
4. The entire province built 16 houses for disadvantaged households;43,275 disadvantaged children received support from youth organizations and their members.
5.355,000 trees have been planted (reaching 71%).
6. The Provincial Youth Union will support one village/hamlet/commune; each district, town, city Youth Union, and affiliated Youth Union will support one disadvantaged village/hamlet/commune in fulfilling the criteria for achieving new rural standards.
7.The organization recruited 15,153 new members (reaching over 54%); the youth mobilization rate was 72.15% (expected to meet the set target).
8. Introduced 2,938 outstanding Youth Union members for the Party to consider for admission.(reached 41),97%(in there1.015The union member was admitted into the Party.

However, the quality of Youth Union and Youth Association activities and youth movements in the first six months of the year still has some limitations; the quality of activities is uneven, leading to less than satisfactory results in some units, and some important targets have not been achieved; the implementation of the year's theme in some units is still unclear, lacking innovative approaches and failing to establish new values in volunteer activities.
Based on these shortcomings, the delegates conducted research, exchanged ideas, and discussed solutions, both short-term and long-term, to improve the quality of activities of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the last six months of 2023.
Focus on implementing key tasks.
At the conference, Comrade Nguyen Manh Khoi, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, acknowledged the achievements of Nghe An's youth in the first six months of the year. Looking ahead, he hoped that the Youth Union and Youth Association at all levels would effectively implement five key tasks. He emphasized that the Youth Union should continue to closely follow the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; effectively implement the 2023 thematic study on the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh; and the campaign for Youth Union members to strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Furthermore, he stressed that Youth Union activities should stem from the province's comprehensive development goals, linked to the specific characteristics and political tasks of each locality; and focus on digital transformation to meet new requirements and tasks.
Concluding the conference, Provincial Youth Union Secretary Le Van Luong outlined eight key tasks for the last six months of the year. These include continuing to implement solutions for the 2023 theme "Year of Digital Transformation in Youth Union Work," linked to achieving the year's targets; actively, proactively, and pioneeringly participating in the process of building a digital government and digital society; and enhancing digital capacity for cadres, union members, and young people.
Continue to implement a widespread political campaign among Youth Union members and young people to study, understand, disseminate, and organize the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Youth Union, and to implement the Action Program for implementing the Resolution of the Youth Union Congress at all levels and Project 06-DA/CP on the development of data applications on population, identification and electronic authentication to serve digital transformation.
Actively participate in monitoring, social criticism, policy consultation, and contributing to the building of the Party and government; coordinate in concretizing and guiding the implementation of the Youth Law and the youth development strategy for the period 2021-2030.
Continuing to organize the "Startup Project Ideas Competition for Youth in Nghe An Province in 2023"; Organizing the Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Student Union, commemorating the 67th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Youth Union; and the "Warm Winter - Volunteer Spring" program in 2023.
