(Baonghean.vn) - This was the propaganda orientation for May outlined at the Nghe An Provincial Press Briefing Conference held on the afternoon of May 5th in Cua Lo Town.
Comrades Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications, chaired the conference. Attendees included leaders of the Cua Lo Town Party Committee and People's Committee, and representatives of media agencies in the province.

In April, media outlets effectively implemented their propaganda guidelines regarding many prominent current events and political activities of the month.
The province's domestic and foreign activities, as well as key events of the month, were emphasized in the dissemination of information: the results of the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly; visits and working trips of Party and State leaders to Nghe An; tourism activities, festivals and celebrations of major national holidays; maritime sovereignty; outstanding achievements in building new rural areas; the fish kill along the central coast and violations of food safety and hygiene; illegal lending and multi-level marketing; warnings of natural disaster risks and drought conditions...

The focus for May is on extensively publicizing the implementation of Directive 51-CT/TW of the Politburo and Directive 01-CT/TW of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on leading the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term; promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example; actively combating and refuting false views and arguments against the Party and State on the Internet; preparing and organizing the 2016 national high school graduation exam; measures to prevent and control diseases in the early summer; food safety, fire prevention and control, and drowning prevention for children;...
At the conference, many opinions suggested that authorities and the media need to provide clearer information about the environmental situation and the impacts surrounding the fish kill along the central coast so that people understand and feel reassured; that much unofficial information circulating on social media is causing negative public opinion; that there should be continued training and professional development, as well as an enhancement of the role and position of journalists; and that the promotion of tourism and festivals in the province should be strengthened.

In the first three months of the year, Cua Lo welcomed 160,000 tourists, including 50,000 overnight visitors. In May, the town continued to promote tourism activities, attract investment; develop cultural and sports movements; ensure food safety and hygiene; and strictly implement environmental monitoring to ensure the safety of tourists swimming in the sea and enjoying seafood.
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Ho Phuc Hop addressed the opinions and questions raised at the conference; he reminded media agencies to closely follow the propaganda guidelines for the coming period, especially regarding information gathering and dissemination of information on the election of National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels.
