Focus on promoting election work

(Baonghean.vn) - That is the propaganda orientation in May stated at the Nghe An province press conference held on the afternoon of May 5 in Cua Lo town.

Comrades Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Ho Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications chaired the Conference. In April, press agencies have done a good job of promoting many outstanding political and current events of the month.

The province's internal and external activities as well as key events of the month were focused on: Results of the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly; Party and State leaders visiting and working in Nghe An; tourism activities, festivals and celebrations of major national holidays; sovereignty over seas and islands; outstanding results in new rural construction; the situation of dead fish along the central coast and violations of food hygiene and safety; illegal credit, multi-level marketing; warnings of natural disaster risks, droughts, etc.

The orientation in May focuses on strongly propagating the implementation of Directive 51-CT/TW of the Politburo and Directive 01-CT/TW of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on leading the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term; promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's moral example; actively fighting and refuting wrong views and arguments against the Party and the State on the Internet; the preparation and organization of the 2016 national high school graduation exam; measures to prevent epidemics in early summer; food safety, fire and explosion and drowning prevention for children;...

At the Conference, many opinions said that the authorities and the press need to provide more information about the environmental situation and the impacts surrounding the fish deaths along the Central coast so that people can understand and feel secure; a lot of unofficial information spread on social networks causes negative public opinion; continue to train, improve professional expertise and enhance the role and position of journalists; strengthen propaganda for tourism promotion activities and festivals in the province;...

Comrade Vo Van Hung - Vice Chairman of Cua Lo Town affirmed that the town will continuously update environmental monitoring results to inform people, ensuring safety for tourists.

Also at the meeting, representatives of the Town Party Committee and People's Committee of Cua Lo Town informed about activities to celebrate the 2016 tourism year and important events of the country: Traditional boat racing festival; Vietnam - Korea culinary culture festival; Buddhist festival;...

In the first 3 months of the year, Cua Lo welcomed 160,000 visitors, including 50,000 overnight visitors. In May, the town continued to promote tourism activities, attract investment; develop cultural and sports movements; ensure food hygiene and safety and strictly implement environmental monitoring, ensuring safety for tourists swimming in the sea and enjoying seafood.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Ho Phuc Hop answered questions and concerns at the conference; reminded press agencies to closely follow the contents of the propaganda orientation in the coming time; especially the work of grasping information and propagating the activities of the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
