Fishing boat catches fire while out at sea.
On the afternoon of May 16th, leaders of Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, confirmed that a fishing boat belonging to a local fisherman suddenly caught fire at sea while on its way out to sea to fish.
Accordingly, at approximately 5:50 PM on May 16th, the fishing boat captained by fisherman Tran Van Truong, from Hamlet 5, Van Hai Commune, departed from the harbor to go out to sea for fishing.
However, the ship suddenly caught fire just about 1 nautical mile from the shore.

Due to strong winds, the fire quickly spread throughout the ship. Upon discovering the fire, the crew members on board quickly jumped off the ship and swam to shore.
According to eyewitnesses, the fishing vessel had just filled its fuel tanks in preparation for a long trip. Therefore, when the fire spread to the fuel tank, the blaze intensified. There were approximately 6-7 crew members on board at the time.
