Fishing boat belonging to fishermen from Nghe An suddenly caught fire during the night.

At 7:20 PM on July 15th, the fishing vessel NA 90641 TS, belonging to fishermen from Quynh Nghia commune, suddenly caught fire while anchored at the fishing port in Duc Xuan village, Tien Thuy commune.

Upon discovering the incident, fishermen living near the fishing port shouted for help from everyone in the community to extinguish the fire; water pumps were also mobilized to the scene.

Upon receiving the information, the Tien Thuy commune authorities mobilized dozens of young people, police officers, and marine militia, and contacted the fire department of Quynh Luu district to come to the scene and, together with the local people, focused on extinguishing the fire.

However, because the ship contained oil, the fire spread very quickly. To avoid damage, many other fishing boats started their engines and moved to other locations to prevent the fire from spreading.

By 8 PM that same day, authorities had brought the fire under control, but the fishing boat's cabin was completely destroyed. The estimated damage is in the billions of dong.

Reportedly, the vessel had a power output of over 400 horsepower and was used for trawling with four poles. No fishermen were on board at the time of the fire, so there were no casualties.
