Chinese fishing boat sinks in the East China Sea.
The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) reported that on the morning of August 11, a Chinese fishing vessel sank shortly after colliding with the Greek cargo ship Anangel Courage in waters near the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea.
According to the JCG, the incident occurred at 5:00 AM approximately 65 km from Uotsuri Island in the Senkaku Islands. The headquarters of the JCG's 11th Regional Headquarters received a distress signal from the 106,727-ton Anangel Courage and dispatched a patrol vessel and an aircraft to the area.

A JCG patrol vessel rescued six sailors from the fishing boat and is searching for the missing. The Japanese Foreign Ministry said it has contacted the Chinese government about the incident.
China has expressed its gratitude for the rescue operation. The JCG unit, based in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, has been on high alert since detecting increased activity by Chinese fishing vessels and coast guard ships in the waters surrounding the Senkaku Islands on August 5.
Approximately 200-300 Chinese fishing vessels have been detected passing through the contiguous zone outside Japan's territorial waters, with some venturing deep into Japanese waters, prompting Tokyo to repeatedly lodge strong protests with Beijing.
According to the Japan Maritime Security Agency, a total of 15 Chinese coast guard vessels intruded into the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands area on August 8th, marking the highest number of incursions in a single day to date. The Japanese government is increasing its alert and surveillance levels in the area.
