US destroyer violates Russian border.
The large anti-submarine ship "Admiral Vinogradov" of the Pacific Fleet prevented a US Navy destroyer from violating the national borders of the Russian Federation, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"The anti-submarine warfare ship 'Admiral Vinogradov' of the Pacific Fleet intercepted the US Navy destroyer 'John McCain' from violating the national border of the Russian Federation in the Bay of Peter the Great," the announcement stated.
It has also been reported that the US Navy destroyer "John McCain" crossed the demarcation line, penetrating 2 km into Russian territorial waters.
"The anti-submarine warfare ship 'Admiral Vinogradov' of the Pacific Fleet is directly following..."tracking the American destroyer."Through international communication channels, we warned foreign vessels that such actions are unacceptable and that we may conduct maneuvers to expel the intruder from our territorial waters," the Russian military statement added.
