The US destroyer USS Mustin arrives at Cam Ranh port.
According to information from the US Embassy in Hanoi, on December 15, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89) arrived at Cam Ranh International Port for a routine technical stop.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius said that the USS Mustin's stop at Cam Ranh International Port is an example of the depth of the comprehensive partnership and the importance of strengthening civilian and military ties between the two countries.
A statement from the US Embassy said that during their stopover, the crew of the USS Mustin will have the opportunity to meet with the people of Nha Trang and share American culture through sporting events.
The American crew will also learn about Vietnam through local cultural activities.
“The crew of the USS Mustin is delighted to contribute to our partnership with Vietnam and understands the importance of this relationship to the interests of both sides in peace, stability, and alignment with a rules-based international order. And of course, we look forward to experiencing Vietnam’s renowned hospitality and exploring the wonderful city of Nha Trang,” said Lieutenant Commander Thane Clare, commanding officer of the USS Mustin.
The USS Mustin, currently en route from Yokosuka, Japan, has a crew of nearly 300 and regularly operates throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
