Indian Coast Guard vessel visits Da Nang.
On the morning of October 23, the SAMRAT vessel of the Indian Coast Guard, along with 140 officers and crew members, docked at Tien Sa port, beginning a friendly visit to Da Nang.
The welcoming ceremony for the ship was held right at Tien Sa port with the participation of representatives from the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, the Office of the 5th Military Region Command, the Da Nang City Military Command, the Da Nang City Border Guard Command, the Office of the Da Nang City People's Committee, and the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs.
During the visit (from October 23-27), the ship's captain and officers will pay courtesy calls to the 5th Military Region Command, the leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee, and the Vietnam Coast Guard Command. They will also participate in activities at the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, such as board games and sports exchanges. During this visit, the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Indian Coast Guard will also conduct search and rescue exercises at sea.
The Indian Coast Guard vessel SAMRAT is 105 meters long, 12.9 meters wide, and has a displacement of 2,577 tons. It is equipped with a Chetak helicopter and various other modern weapons systems. This is the fourth visit of an Indian Coast Guard vessel and the second visit of the SAMRAT to Vietnam.

The visit of the patrol vessel SAMRAT to Da Nang further affirms the good cooperative relationship between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Indian Coast Guard in ensuring maritime security and safety. This is also a good opportunity for both sides to share and learn from each other's experiences in ensuring maritime security, as well as to enhance exchanges, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
