"In total, according to our design, about 40 planes and helicopters, and even more can be placed on the aircraft carrier," Filippov said.

He also did not rule out that this would be the base for Russia's latest generation of unmanned ships.

Mr. Filippov said that Russia's newest fifth-generation fighter jets, the Su-57, will be able to land on the new aircraft carrier, provided they meet the ship's conditions.

The Krylov Center has developed a new design for a non-nuclear multipurpose aircraft carrier for the Russian Navy with a displacement of 40,000 tons. Its cost is more than 3 billion USD, the construction period is 5 years.
