These striking photographs of the white ducks were captured by photographer Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa during a trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Ninh Thach commune, about 6 km from Ba Den mountain. While wandering around looking for a good angle, he was captivated by the rhythmic movements of the ducks foraging in the rice fields.

Early morning and late afternoon are the two times when the ducks are most active. When the light is still soft, the entire field seems to light up with rows of white ducks, creating a feeling that is both lively and incredibly peaceful.

The owner of the flock, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, said that these are Pekingese ducks raised year-round in preparation for Tet (Lunar New Year), not free-range ducks. The entire flock is almost uniform in color; from a distance, only patches of white moving evenly against the dark ground are visible.

Each day, the ducks are fed several times. After their hearty meal, they rush down to the nearby pond to swim and preen their feathers. Thanks to their frequent bathing, each one is pure white, its feathers shiny and clean as if it had just been washed.

According to Mr. Hai, the Peking duck breed has pure white feathers, an orange-yellow beak, a large body, is less prone to disease, and has high commercial value. When mature, each duck can reach a weight of about 3 kg, providing plenty of meat and being easy to care for under suitable free-range conditions.

According to photographer Vu Khoa, when observed from above, the entire flock of ducks looks like "white snowflakes" floating on the field. Under the lens of a drone, they constantly change formations, creating curves, swirls, and vibrant patches of color like an abstract painting.
