Reportedly, this award was established to recognize the talent and significant contributions of the "Country Music Princess" to the world of music.
Sharing the reason behind the creation of this special award, Barbara Cane, Vice President of BMI, said, “Taylor Swift has changed pop culture with her songs, her authenticity, and her courage. She not only sings and writes music but also creates a standard of musical value for everyone. With these immense contributions, Taylor Swift deserves this award.”
"The King of Pop," Michael Jackson, was the first to win the award named after him in 1990.
Earlier, at the recent Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift won two awards: "Best Music Video" for "Bad Blood." Her album "1989" brought her glory by winning "Best Pop Album" and "Album of the Year." The "Country Music Princess" was understandably surprised and overwhelmed by the unexpected wins. In her acceptance speech, the singer confidently spoke about the "power of feminism," demonstrating that women can do anything they want.
