Bank robber shoots security guard, the bullet grazes his chest.
On the evening of February 7th, police forces were still actively pursuing the suspect who robbed billions of dong from a Vietinbank branch in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district (Lam Dong province).
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Duc Trong District Police mobilized all forces to quickly apprehend the robber. The Lam Dong Provincial Police also reinforced their forces at the scene, implementing professional measures to arrest the suspect as soon as possible.
According to several witnesses, as soon as the robber got the money and ran outside to get on his motorbike to escape, the bank security guard shouted and chased after him, but the robber pointed a gun at him and shot. The bullet grazed the security guard's neck, causing a skin abrasion and tearing his shirt.
Authorities also recovered a lead bullet at the scene, believed to have been fired by the robber.
Earlier that day, at approximately 3:19 PM, the robber arrived at the Vietinbank branch in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, and unexpectedly threatened the bank employees with a gun.
The robber stood on the counter, threw his backpack inside, pointed a gun at a female employee, and demanded that she put the stacks of money into the backpack.
Seeing that the female employee was stalling, the robber climbed over the glass barrier, slipped the stacks of money into a black backpack slung over his right shoulder, then jumped out and escaped on a motorbike.
