Bank robber shot guard in the chest
On the evening of February 7, the police force was still actively searching for the suspect who robbed billions of dong at the Vietinbank branch in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district (Lam Dong).
Immediately after the incident, Duc Trong District Police mobilized all forces to urgently arrest the robber. Lam Dong Provincial Police also increased forces to the scene, taking professional measures to arrest the subject as soon as possible.
According to some witnesses, as soon as the robber got the money and ran out to get on a motorbike to escape, the bank security guard shouted and chased after him, but was shot by the robber. The bullet grazed the security guard's neck, causing scratches and tearing his shirt.
Authorities also seized a lead bullet at the scene, believed to be fired by the robber.
Previously, at around 3:19 p.m. the same day, the robber went to the transaction counter of the Vietinbank branch in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, and suddenly used a gun to threaten the bank employees.
The robber stood up at the counter, threw his backpack inside, pointed a gun at a female employee and asked her to put the stacks of money into the backpack.
Seeing the female employee stalling for time, the robber climbed over the glass barrier, put the money into a black backpack on his right shoulder, then jumped out and escaped on a motorbike.
