Names of 29 newly established communes after the merger in Nghe An

Resolution No. 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels of Nghe An province for the period 2023 - 2025effective from December 1, 2024.

Accordingly, Nghe An will establish 29 new communes in 10 districts: Nghi Loc, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Quynh Luu, Thanh Chuong, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Yen Thanh and Anh Son after merging communes.

The placementnew nameCommunes are also diverse, and can have new names based on history and tradition; many new commune names are also combined from parts of old communes.

Nghi Loc district has 2 newly established communes named: Dien Hoa and Thinh Truong

Xã Diên Hoawas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Nghi Hoa and Nghi Dien. Dien Hoa commune borders Nghi Long, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Thuan, Nghi Trung, Nghi Van communes, Quan Hanh town and Hung Nguyen district.

XThinh Truongwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Nghi Thinh and Nghi Truong. Thinh Truong commune borders the communes of Khanh Hop, Nghi Long, Nghi Thach, Nghi Trung, Nghi Xa and Vinh city.

HDo Luong districtA new commune was established with the name Bach Ngoc.

XBach Ngocwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Ngoc Son and Lam Son. Bach Ngoc commune borders the communes of Bac Son, Boi Son, Giang Son Tay, Nam Son and Anh Son district.

HTan Ky districtThere are two new communes established with the names: Binh Hop and Hoan Long

XBinh Hopwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Nghia Hop and Nghia Binh. Binh Hop commune borders Nghia Dung, Nghia Dong, Nghia Thai communes and Nghia Dan, Quynh Luu, and Yen Thanh districts.

XHoan Longwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Tan Long and Nghia Hoan. Hoan Long commune borders the communes of Giai Xuan, Ky Son, Ky Tan, Nghia Dung, Nghia Phuc, Nghia Thai and Tan Phu.

HQuynh Luu district has6 new communes were established with the names:Thuan Long,Van Hai,Phu Nghia,Quynh Son,Minh Luong,Binh Son

XThuan Longwas established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of 2 communes: Quynh Long and Quynh Thuan. Thuan Long commune borders An Hoa, Phu Nghia, Van Hai and Bien Dong communes.

XVan Haiwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Son Hai and Quynh Tho. Van Hai commune borders An Hoa, Binh Son, Quynh Dien, Thuan Long communes; Dien Chau district and Bien Dong.

XPhu Nghiawas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Tien Thuy and Quynh Nghia. Phu Nghia commune borders An Hoa, Minh Luong, Quynh Yen, Thuan Long and Bien Dong communes.

CommuneQuynh Sonwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Quynh Hoa and Quynh My. Quynh Son commune borders the communes of Ngoc Son, Quynh Hau, Quynh Lam, Quynh Tan, Quynh Thach, Quynh Van and Cau Giat town.

CommuneThanh Quawas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Thanh Chi and Thanh Khe. Thanh Qua commune borders the communes of Dong Van, Kim Bang, Ngoc Son, Thanh An, Thanh Ngoc and Thanh Thuy.

XJadewas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Dien Ngoc and Dien Bich. Ngoc Bich commune borders Dien Hoa, Dien Kim, Dien Ky, Dien Van communes and Dien Thanh town.

XThong Tanwas established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 2 communes: Hung Thong and Hung Tan. Thong Tan commune borders the communes of Hung Dao, Hung Nghia, Long Xa, Thinh My, Xuan Lam, Hung Nguyen town and Nam Dan district.
