Names of the 29 newly established communes after mergers in Nghe An

Resolution No. 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15The Standing Committee of the National Assembly's resolution on the rearrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province for the period 2023-2025 includes:Effective from December 1, 2024.

Accordingly, 29 new communes will be established in 10 districts of Nghe An province: Nghi Loc, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Quynh Luu, Thanh Chuong, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Yen Thanh, and Anh Son, after the merger of existing communes.

The ordernew nameThe names of communes are also diverse; new names can be given based on history and tradition; many new commune names are also formed by combining parts of old communes.

Nghi Loc District has two newly established communes: Dien Hoa and Thinh Truong.

XDien HoaIt was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Nghi Hoa and Nghi Dien. Dien Hoa commune borders Nghi Long, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Thuan, Nghi Trung, Nghi Van communes, Quan Hanh town and Hung Nguyen district.

XThinh TruongIt was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Nghi Thịnh and Nghi Trường. Thịnh Trường commune borders Khánh Hợp, Nghi Long, Nghi Thạch, Nghi Trung, Nghi Xá communes and Vinh City.

HDo Luong DistrictA new commune has been established with the name Bach Ngoc.

XWhite JadeIt was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Ngoc Son and Lam Son. Bach Ngoc commune borders Bac Son, Boi Son, Giang Son Tay, Nam Son communes and Anh Son district.

HTan Ky DistrictTwo new communes were established with the names: Binh Hop and Hoan Long.

XBinh HopIt was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Nghia Hop and Nghia Binh. Binh Hop commune borders Nghia Dung, Nghia Dong, Nghia Thai communes and Nghia Dan, Quynh Luu, and Yen Thanh districts.

XThuan LongIt was established by merging the entire area and population of two communes: Quỳnh Long and Quỳnh Thuận. Thuận Long commune borders An Hòa, Phú Nghĩa, Văn Hải communes and the East Sea.

XVăn HảiVan Hai commune was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Son Hai and Quynh Tho. Van Hai commune borders An Hoa, Binh Son, Quynh Dien, and Thuan Long communes; Dien Chau district and the East Sea.

XPhu Nghia communePhu Nghia commune was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Tien Thuy and Quynh Nghia. Phu Nghia commune borders An Hoa, Minh Luong, Quynh Yen, Thuan Long communes and the East Sea.

XThong TanIt was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two communes: Hung Thong and Hung Tan. Thong Tan commune borders Hung Dao, Hung Nghia, Long Xa, Thinh My, Xuan Lam communes, Hung Nguyen town and Nam Dan district.

XPhuc LoiIt was established by merging the entire area and population of two communes: Hung Phuc and Hung Loi. Phuc Loi commune borders Chau Nhan, Hung Nghia, Thinh My communes and Vinh City.

HNam Dan DistrictTwo new communes were established with the names: Nghia Thai and Xuan Hong.
