Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the city had suffered heavy damage to critical infrastructure, causing widespread power outages. Under pressure from the attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continued to request that Western countries increase their aid with more modern air defense systems.
On the Russian side, the Ministry of Defense announced that a large-scale attack using long-range precision weapons, including Oreshnik missiles, had struck its intended targets. Facilities producing drones and energy infrastructure supporting Ukraine's military-industrial complex were the primary targets of this attack.

In that incident, Major General Alexander Romanenkov stated that 91 Ukrainian drones were intercepted in the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Novgorod regions without causing any casualties.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin has previously warned repeatedly about the destructive power of the Oreshnik system. Russia asserts that it will continue to retaliate with even stronger strikes if the country's security facilities continue to be threatened.
