On November 3rd, the Le Loi Ward Police ambushed and caught Le Van Ngo (born in 1990), residing in Block 7, Quy Hop town, red-handed. Ngo was the perpetrator of 12 theft cases in the city, including 7 cases of theft from cars.

Previously, from October 27th to November 2nd, the police in Le Loi Ward (Vinh City) received reports from two victims about an individual opening their car doors and stealing their wallets.
At 7:00 AM on October 27th, after picking up her child from ABC Kindergarten, Ms. Phan Thi L. (born in 1982), residing in Block 3, Trung Do Ward (Vinh City), went to Blue Sky Kindergarten (Le Loi Ward, Vinh City) to pick up her second child. Ms. L parked her car in front of the school gate, locked it, but left the window open so the child could sit inside before going into the school.
When she got to the car, Ms. L. heard her child report that a man had gotten into the car, invited her to play hide-and-seek, and then opened her mother's wallet. Startled, she opened her handbag to find that 4.7 million VND had disappeared.
Next, at around 6:45 AM on November 2nd, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ng. (born in 1982) from Dai Loi Hamlet, Dong Vinh Ward (Vinh City) left her young child in the car (the car was locked but the windows were down) to take her brother to school at Le Loi Primary School.
When she got to her car, she noticed a suspicious young man getting out. Just as the car alarm sounded, she and the security guard chased after him, but the suspect escaped. Checking her belongings, she discovered that her handbag, which was in the back of the car, containing 4 million VND, had been stolen.
Based on a tip from a resident, the Le Loi Ward Police monitored and staked out school gates during student drop-off and pick-up times. On the afternoon of November 3rd, the suspect was apprehended by the police while loitering in front of the school gate to continue his "profession."

At the police station, the suspect identified himself as Le Van Ngo (born in 1990), residing in Block 7, Quy Hop town.
Ngo confessed that from August until his arrest, he had successfully carried out 12 thefts of money and mobile phones worth tens of millions of dong in Vinh City, mainly on Nguyen Thai Hoc, Chu Van An, and Doan Nhu Hai streets (Le Loi ward).
Ngo often took advantage of the moments when parents dropped off their children at school in their cars but left the doors unlocked after getting out, in order to commit his crimes.
Confessing to the authorities, the thief stated that he spent all the money he obtained from the robberies on prostitutes. This was also his hobby. He even admitted to once stealing money from a prostitute.
The Le Loi Ward Police have now handed over the suspect to the Vinh City Police for handling. The police are announcing that anyone who has been a victim of Ngo should come to the police station to report the incident.
