Huynh Van Tho (29 years old, residing in Hong Ngu town, Dong Thap province) broke into a two-story house in the area to steal property at nearly 2 AM on August 28th. Once inside, he went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and concealed it on his person in case he was discovered.
The thief then went upstairs to look for valuables and saw the 22-year-old daughter of the homeowner preparing to go to bed. He immediately entered the room first, ambushed her against the wall, overpowered her, and dragged her into the room to rape her. While being restrained, the girl cleverly pretended to ask to go to the bathroom. Thọ agreed but stayed very close to her.
Upon reaching the door, the victim stomped her foot loudly on the floor to raise the alarm. Hearing the unusually loud noise, everyone in the house turned on the lights. Thọ panicked, let go of the girl, and ran back into the room, grabbing a knife to barricade himself.
Upon receiving the report, police arrived a few minutes later and arrested the "sexual predator".
