In the heart of northwestern Nghe An province, where the Hieu River flows quietly through bustling streets, Thai Hoa ward stands out as a vibrant beacon. Formed from the merger of three wards – Hoa Hieu, Long Son, and Quang Phong – Thai Hoa is not just a new name on the administrative map, but also a symbol of unity, creativity, and aspiration for progress.
Building upon past achievements while showcasing a unique identity.
Thai Hoa Ward was established according to Resolution No. 1678/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 16, 2025, of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly, merging the entire natural area and population of Hoa Hieu, Long Son, and Quang Phong wards. With an area of 27.09 km² and a population of 26,916 people, Thai Hoa possesses strength from its diverse culture, economy, and people.
The ward Party Committee was officially established on July 1, 2025, according to Decision No. 3670-QD/TU dated June 18, 2025, of the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, comprising 64 subordinate party organizations with 1,623 party members.
During the 2020-2025 term, the three former wards faced unprecedented challenges: the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted production, floods caused severe damage, and global fluctuations created economic pressure. However, with the close leadership of the Party Committee and the solidarity of the people, Thai Hoa achieved remarkable accomplishments.
The average annual growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) is projected at 7.35%, with an estimated per capita income of VND 71.25 million by 2025. The economic structure is shifting positively, increasing the proportion of industry, construction, and services, while gradually reducing agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Total budget revenue for the period 2021-2025 is expected to reach VND 273.9 billion, and total investment in the area will amount to VND 4,014 billion, affirming Thai Hoa's strong appeal to investors.
The service sector has become a key economic driver, reaching a value of VND 1,156 billion in 2025, with an average growth rate of 7.65%. Industries such as banking, supermarkets, warehouse rental, transportation, food and beverage, and beauty services are developing dynamically, creating stable jobs for thousands of workers.
In particular, the Lang Vac Festival and the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day have become cultural highlights, attracting thousands of tourists every year, not only spreading spiritual values but also boosting trade and services. Education and healthcare have made their mark with high-quality facilities, meeting the growing needs of the people.
The industrial and construction sector is expected to reach a value of VND 623.5 billion in 2025, with an average growth rate of 7.05%. Industries such as garment processing, bottled mineral water production, Thuy Lieu incense, civil carpentry, sand and gravel mining, vermicelli, cakes, and noodles not only create jobs but also affirm local brands. Total investment in construction reached VND 247,965 million, with projects including transportation infrastructure, schools, and health stations, transforming the urban landscape.
Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries remained stable, with added value reaching VND 45.9 billion and an average growth rate of 3.82%. Food production reached 1,494 tons per year, livestock and poultry farming developed, and freshwater fish farming covered over 43.62 hectares. OCOP brands, especially Thuy Lieu incense, opened up export opportunities. Forest area reached 789.64 hectares, with a forest cover of 29.16%, and no forest fires occurred thanks to strict management. 75 training courses on science and technology for over 3,550 people improved agricultural productivity.
Party building work was implemented vigorously. 81 conferences were organized to disseminate resolutions, 6 conferences were held on the works of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; 1,300 news articles were published on digital platforms. 38 models of "learning from Uncle Ho" were developed, and 329 self-criticism and self-correction sessions were held in conjunction with Central Resolution 4. 90 new party members were admitted (100% of the plan), 108 members were granted full membership, and 450 Party badges were awarded...
The mass mobilization work has spread the spirit of solidarity and cooperation in building the homeland. Through the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" movement, Thai Hoa ward has commended 21 collectives and 24 individuals. The People's Council organized 46 sessions, passed 244 resolutions, held 66 meetings with voters, and conducted 33 thematic supervisions. Administrative reform has made significant progress: the application of VNPT-Office, digital signatures, Project 06, VNeID, etc. National defense and security are solid, and 100% of military recruitment has been completed.
Strategic breakthrough, creating a central urban area.
The First Party Congress of Thai Hoa Ward, for the term 2025-2030, with the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development," aims to inspire the aspiration to build a clean and strong Party organization, transforming Thai Hoa into a civilized urban area and a center of economy and culture in Northwest Nghe An. By 2030, the ward strives to achieve an economic growth rate of 10-12% per year, an average income of 100-120 million VND per person, a service-industry structure accounting for 70%, poverty rates below 1%, 80% of the workforce having received training, universal health insurance coverage, and 98% internet access.
Three strategic breakthroughs have been clearly identified. Firstly, developing the digital and green economy. Promoting OCOP brands such as Thuy Lieu incense, expanding exports; attracting investment in industrial clusters, logistics, and e-commerce, creating 400-500 new jobs annually. Building a high-tech agricultural value chain, utilizing 43.62 hectares of water surface for fish farming, developing specialty fruit trees, combining with ecotourism, and increasing food production to over 1,500 tons per year.
Secondly, we will build modern and civilized urban infrastructure. This includes investing in regional transportation links, model residential areas, green parks, and multi-functional cultural centers. We will apply digital technologies such as AI, 5G, smart cameras, and level 4 public services. Our goal is to achieve 70% of the population meeting cultural standards, 98% of families being recognized as culturally exemplary, and 90% as families participating in sports. The Lang Vac Festival will be developed into a unique tourism product, combined with the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, attracting tourists from within and outside the province.
Thirdly, improve the quality of human resources and social welfare. Expand schools that meet national standards, raising the high school graduation rate to 98%. Equip health centers with modern equipment to ensure high-quality medical examination and treatment. Provide market-oriented vocational training, focusing on garment making, information technology, and supporting youth and women. Continue to ensure policies for war veterans, disadvantaged children, and the elderly...
National defense and security have been strengthened with a people-to-people strategy, improving the quality of militia and reserve forces; combating drug trafficking, gambling, and illegal lending; providing national defense education for students, and spreading the movement to protect the Fatherland. People-to-people mobilization work continues to spread, with successful "people-to-people mobilization" models and people-to-people dialogue, ensuring 100% resolution of complaints and petitions.
From tree-lined streets along the Hieu River to bustling industrial zones, Thai Hoa embodies an undying spirit of unity, a desire for breakthroughs, and a will to reach further. With its rich cultural traditions, the economic strength derived from its potential and internal resources, and the solidarity of its people, Thai Hoa is not just a newly established ward, but a pioneering "flame," making a worthy contribution to illuminating the Northwest region of Nghe An.
