Thai Hoa and his fear of 'good actors'
Following the success of several film projects, actor Thai Hoa returns to the small screen with the television series 'The Lower River War'. He plays Sang, a car mechanic and the breadwinner of his family. The character appears gruff and naive on the outside, but is kind-hearted and harbors many secrets on the inside.

Sharing his reasons for participating in television dramas, Thai Hoa said he enjoys the time he gets to live longer within the story and character. Although recognized as one of the leading actors, he humbly stated: "I'm still exploring acting. The most satisfying aspect of this profession is when you understand more about your skills and yourself through each role." He also admitted that he's afraid of being praised as a good actor.

In contrast to the gentle, submissive characters she usually plays, this role marks a 180-degree change in personality. Le Phuong's husband, Trung Kien, also expressed surprise at his wife being offered such a strong-willed role.
A reunion on set after a decade.
'The Downstream War' marks the reunion of Thai Hoa and Le Phuong after 10 years since the film 'Silk Eyes' (2015). This is also the first time the two have played husband and wife on screen.

Le Phuong said she learned a lot from Thai Hoa's professional attitude. However, she also revealed that her co-star often changes dialogue or plot points between scenes, requiring her to always be ready to improvise. Thai Hoa explained that he does this to avoid repetition in his acting style. He also praised Le Phuong's professionalism and dedication to perfecting her role.
